Our story
In 1997 our close friend ‘Steven’ suggested we look at a property just outside of Milford. It was charming, we loved it and bought it on the spot. This is how it all began.
Hi, I am Victoria, partner of Long dog Winery and spouse of James.
After enjoying our vacation property for less than a year, we moved our film editing business in and became happy country mice.
James noticed a few small vineyards dotted about and began investigating as a wine lover. After much research, soil sampling and many consultations later, it turned out that we had patches of land astonishingly similar to the “terroir” of Burgundy.
In 1999, an enthusiastic James and a slightly sceptical Steven began planting vines, and in May of 2004, we began selling our wine. We now have several vintages under our belt and maturing vines and are more than ever convinced that Prince Edward County is one of the best homes in the world for Pinot Noir and cool climate Chardonnay.
Winemaking continues to be our chosen craft. When tasting our fine wine, the pleasure on our customer’s face lights up our ambition to create the best wine in the county.
